“Touch Me Not” won the top Golden Bear prize at the Berlin International Film Festival last night.

The jury lead by German director Tom Tykwer chose the movie out of 19 contenders. The story follows a woman who can’t bear to be touched, together with a set of other characters in their seach for intimacy.

“Touch Me Not” is directed by Romania’s Adina Pintilie, an Aristoteles Workshop graduate in 2006 with “Don’t get me wrong.” Her short documentary marked her debut in film and was immediately picked by the festival circuit. It went on to win The Golden Dove award in DoK Leipzig and several other distinctions in established talent filtering spots like The International Documentary Festival Amsterdam or Watch Docs Human Rights International Film Festival Warszaw.
